DUTCH MASTER COLLECTION

Kalani Amsterdam is inspired by the Dutch masters of the Golden Age. These paintings are now part of the collection at the Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam. Reza Kalani selects rich details from these paintings and overlays them with simple geometrical shapes.

BLOOMING FLOWERS

Through the abstract forms we can recognize exquisite flowers, inspired by Jan Davidz de Heem’s extraordinary

“Still Life with Flowers in a Glass Vase”.

THE SWAN

“The Threatened Swan” by Dutch Golden Age painter Jan Asselijn. Today his work can be admired in the Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam and also flies out of the geometrical shapes on Kalani Amsterdam's scarf.

SOUL OF FLOWERS

Johannes Vermeer portrays a milkmaid in the 17th century, simple yet beautiful - just like a flower. Kalani Amsterdam combines two of Holland’s quintessential symbols in an imaginative creation.

BAROQUE HARMONY

Kalani Amsterdam interprets Adam van Vianen’s bizarre ‘Lidded ewer”.  His use of the baroque shapes in a contemporary design shows how tradition can be reinvented and refreshed.
